Portland Limestone Makes a Striking Impact at Private House in Alderley Edge, Cheshire

This project is a classic example of the contractor, architect and supplier working in harmony right from the outset.

BBS was engaged by Edge Projects, at the early design stages to work with the project architects, Abode Architecture in relation to the natural stone masonry and hard landscaping required for this impressive project.

Using Abode’s plans and elevations, BBS’s in-house draughtsman created full masonry working drawings and with the client keen to use a traditional, classic UK stone, BBS provided a range of suitable stone types for consideration with Portland Limestone ultimately selected.

This large, impressive project included many complex elements and BBS worked closely with Edge Projects to break down each element of the brief to produce a manageable schedule of works to reflect the size of the property.

From the Ground Floor Plinth to Window Surrounds; String Course; Copings; Cornice; Chimneys; Portico; Steps; Pavings & Landscaping, each element was carefully analysed by all parties at the design stage, with amendments made, signed-off, then manufactured by BBS’s skilled masons, in order to meet the contractor’s path requirements.

This project is a classic example of the contractor, architect and supplier working in harmony right from the outset to deliver a stunning residence for a delighted client and highlights BBS’s commitment to client satisfaction.
