BBS travelled out in China recently attending the 14th International Xiamen Stone Fair, and then going on to check some of our supplier factories regarding our Ethical Trading policy and PPE requirements.

The fair had a huge attendance with hundreds of companies showing their product ranges which included granite, marble, Limestone, Sandstone, and much more besides, with clients and buyers attending from every continent of the world. Whether it was landscaping, worktops or machinery the show had it all in abundance. Meeting new potential supply partners, discussing ethics and health and safety with them, is key for a quality stone supplier, and as such BBS see this as very important work. It was great to meet with our current supply chains again, who are already signed up to the high standards and requirements set out by BBS. Another subject discussed with our supply chains was the CE mark, and as you can see from one of the photographs our chain is well versed in this matter.

With some new and interesting materials sourced and agreements in place, BBS headed off to meet with some of our current supply chains to check on production of orders, check on the ETI standards that are being worked to, and to deliver another batch of PPE to one of our factories.

It was particularly encouraging to see the immediate use of the ear defenders at the factory, followed very closely by the dust masks.

With the stone fair visited, new stones sourced, quality checks completed, the PPE being used and the ETI standards upheld BBS see this latest visit to the far East as a success.

BBS would like to thank our supply chains for their continuing efforts to work to the required standards set by ourselves, and ensuring a safe and quality lead industry.
