BBS delivers on its commitment to develop women’s influence in its Chinese supply chains, by appointing female leaders of its new 9-point base code trained teams.

In November 2019, BBS, in conjunction with the Ethical Trading Initiative completed the training of its specialist supply chain companies.

These newly trained teams had female leaders appointed to run and deliver programmes at factory level and be able to speak freely with female workers at all levels, on subjects previously difficult to deal with or embarrassing to take to a male.

More than 1,800 business leaders have signed up to UN Women and the UN Global Compact (UNGC)’s ‘Women’s Empowerment Principles’, which provide a framework for their commitment to support the empowerment of women within the workplace and the wider community.
