BBS and ETI: Working with our supply chains
Published 24th February 2020At BBS we are always working closely with our supply chains and finding new and innovative ways of improving working standards and conditions.
At BBS we are always working closely with our supply chains and finding new and innovative ways of improving working standards and conditions, through collaboration and interaction with other external sources, and our own trained teams overseas. BBS are currently working collaboratively with the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) and the All China Federation of Trade Unions (AFCTU) regarding workers rights in China.
Our suppliers are all known to us personally and have been chosen over time due to meetings at source and reciprocated meetings back in the UK and a starting point of the ETI 9-point Base Code as a minimum requirement to supply BBS.
This proven method has gained BBS a trusted and honed set of suppliers both in Europe and the Far East.
BBS have carried out training of our supply chains in China (both personally and outsourced to the ETI) with newly trained female led management teams available at all times to make factory/quarry visits on our behalf, where and when required. This approach has built and is building further trust within the supply chain promoting an open culture within the workforce.
Our supply chains in China carry out BBS designed toolbox talks educating workers on Health and Safety and the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment in the workplace. We have already had very positive feedback and individual "thank you's" for the training and the equipment BBS have supplied.
Our Chinese natural stone is predominantly sourced from Shandong and Fujian Provinces, where our trusted supply chains are based.
