Perth High Street - Chinese BasaltBasalt occurs in many parts of the world but unlike granite, it is lava which has cooled quickly above ground.  Chinese Basalt tends to be dark in colour and does not tend to have crystals or grain running through it. It is generally quarried in boulder form which limits the size of the units which can be produced.  It is worth checking with our technical staff before specifying large kerbs or paving using this material.
