The Olympic Legacy Park is a huge redevelopment of the former Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield and will be a hub for sports, health and wellbeing research and learning when it fully opens.
- Client: Olympic Legacy Park
- Contractor: Henry Boot Construction
- Architect: Ares Architects, Sheffield
- Material: Sandal Buff Sandstone
Working with Henry Boot Construction, based in Dronfield and landscape designers Ares Architects in Sheffield BBS have supplied Chinese granite in silver grey for the kerbing and steps with dark grey visibility strips and tactile pavers. The masonry – produced by our highly skilled stonemasons in Doncaster – mainly consisted of very complex copings in our Sandal Buff Sandstone, a classic Yorkstone source exclusive to BBS. Our in house team assisted with all the technical drawings to ensure everything would fit together perfectly in all the right places. The stone needed to complement the new and existing project requirements and the Sandal Buff was the perfect choice.
We have supplied to the Public Realm on the project with kerbs, tactile units, steps and complex masonry.
